Happy to have worked with a BC-based visual artist to secure funding ($25,000) to enable them to engage in research and create a new body of work. Thanks to the Canada Council for the Arts’ Explore and Create: Research & Creation grant, this artist (who wishes to remain anonymous) will be able to work with a mentor, pair down their work schedule and rent a studio space so they can focus on their painting practice, which will culminate in a body of work they can exhibit the following year.
