One-hour Coaching Plus: $175

This service includes a preview/review of your files, sent to me by email or through access to your Google Drive, followed by a one-hour Zoom coaching session consisting of feedback and answering any questions you may have.

This is most useful for those who have started working on their grant application and have questions on how to proceed or want to ensure they are on the right track with their writing approach.

It may also be useful for those who have applied for a grant before and were not successful and would like feedback and ideas on how to improve their application. Only one application is reviewed.

The ‘Plus’ refers to the preview and review of your files. Please note that files will not be marked up, therefore taking notes during the meeting is highly encouraged to get the most out of this session.

To book this service or to ask questions about it, fill out the form in the Get in Touch page.

Grant Review: $425

Fees are based on grant applications for provincial art councils and Canada Council for the Arts. Fees for arts organization applications will have to be discussed over a consult. This service does not include grant research. It is expected that you have already verified your eligibility for the grant you are requesting help with.

You have a draft of the grant application but still need help with:

  • refining ideas
  • organizing the project description
  • creating a timeline
  • creating a budget
  • guidance in getting letters of support
  • review of portfolio material

Includes:

  • proofreading
  • editing (no image editing included)
  • lots of feedback
  • pointing out information gaps
  • pointing out where clarity is needed
  • 2 Zoom meetings, 1 hour max. each (if you have a disability and need an alternate meeting format, please let me know)
  • review of 2 drafts maximum of the same application

What you end up with:

  • Lots of feedback and examples on how to shape your application so you can continue working on it with clarity and confidence.
  • A well-thought out timeline that will also be useful to you in executing your project.
  • A well-developed budget so you ask for what you need.
  • Knowledge on what to ask collaborators or supporters so they can provide you with support letters
  • Your own grant application template/model that you can reuse or refer to for future applications.

Artist Biography: $100

Applying for a grant for your collective or a collaborative project? You’ll need to include a short biography of 100-200 words in length for each team member. If you have already written one, I can edit your biography at an hourly rate of $45, or I can write your bio from scratch for a flat fee of $100 for up to 200 words. Additional words are .50 each.

You will need to submit some materials: your CV, website, your latest artist statement, and links or PDFs to press coverage. If we haven’t met before, we will meet briefly for a short Zoom meeting.

Hourly Rate: $45

If you only need proofreading and feedback on a very polished draft or need help only with creating a timeline or the budget, perhaps two or three hours is all you need. If you find that after this your draft needs more work and you want to continue working with me, we can switch to the Grant Review Flat Fee price listed above. Your deposit of $45 would be transferred to the Grant Review Fee.
